I&#8217;ll update it with others as I create the links, but I&#8217;m only going to add books that I personally have experience with and that I actually use. There are other good books out there, but I only mention ones with which I have actual experience.\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/rootdig.genealogytipoftheday.com\/?page_id=3776\">Don&#8217;t forget about &#8220;Genealogy Tip of the Day,&#8221; which is also in book form.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Your experience may vary. Sometimes one can get used library editions for low-cost&#8211;other times not so much.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2hlVZ9H\">State Census Records<\/a><\/em> by Ann S. Lainhart<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2hNq3HU\">Genealogist&#8217;s Handbook for New England Research<\/a><\/em>, 5th edition, edited by Michael J. Leclerc<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2hlZuND\">Land and Property Research<\/a><\/em> by E. Wade Hone&#8211;a personal favorite of mine&#8211;although it is weak on methodology in local records in federal land states.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2gsSgTy\"><em>Researcher&#8217;s Guide to American Genealogy<\/em><\/a>, 3rd Edition, by Val D. Greenwood<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2gRGG59\">The Source<\/a><\/em>, edited by Lou Szucs and Sandra Hargreaves Luebking&#8211;probably the best overview of American sources there is.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2gwJ9pD\"><em>Digging for Genealogical Treasure in New England Town Records <\/em><\/a>by \u00a0Ann S.
