If you have several family members who received homesteads in Nebraska, a monthlong subscription may be cheaper than purchasing copies directly from the National Archives&#8211;and knowledge of the precise location of the property is not necessary since there is a statewide index on\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tkqlhce.com\/click-865524-10934994?url=http:\/\/www.fold3.com\/title_650\/homestead_records_ne\/\">Fold3.com<\/a>.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.genealogybank.com\/gbnk\/newspapers\/?utm_source=9378&amp;utm_medium=np_text&amp;utm_campaign=affil&amp;kbid=9378&amp;m=10\">Newspaper Archive at <em>GenealogyBank.com<\/em><\/a>&#8211;their newspaper collection is hit and miss, but if they have a location you need a monthlong subscription may be enough to get the information out of it that you need.<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kqzyfj.com\/click-865524-11455547-1377636557000\">Newspapers.com<\/a><\/em>&#8211;their collection focuses on 20th century era newspapers (for the most part). Again, browse the site first to determine if they have the location time period of interest to you. It may be worth a short term subscription.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Before you begin your subscription:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Know which credit card you used to activate the membership.<\/li>\n<li>Know when your first month is over.<\/li>\n<li>Mark your calendar for 3-4 days before that first month is up. That&#8217;s when you should decide if you are going to let the membership &#8220;auto-renew&#8221; or not. That&#8217;s also when you should call and cancel. Be aware of the hours of operation for the call center for the site so that you can call when they are open.<\/li>\n<li>Know how to save images and download them to your own digital media.
