The only drawback to getting a new edition is that my old one has handwritten notes all over it&#8211;things I want to remember, things I don&#8217;t quite understand, things I want to look into further, and the occasional item with which I don&#8217;t agree. I know that some people are hesitant to write in books, but I adapted the habit at some point in my college career and have stuck with it ever since. Some reference books like\u00a0 <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0806320176\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0806320176&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=gentipoftheda-20&amp;linkId=XAVXHGV3PWWBOUDC\">Evidence Explained<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>are meant to be used, not preserved like an archival copy.<\/p>\n<p>Some are intimidated by the size of the book-and the price isn&#8217;t exactly cheap. But it costs less than attending most seminars or workshops.
