The “record” on\u00a0Ancestry.com<\/em> for this marriage only indicates that it took place in Hamilton County, Ohio, on 13 December 1852. W<\/p>\n hen viewing the source information and citation for this item, there’s not a great deal to find. The source is lumped together in the generically titled “Ohio, County Marriage Records, 1774-1993.” The original data is also phrased in a similarly vague manner: “Various Ohio County Courthouses.” The source description is phrased in the generic way: “county marriage records from various counties in Ohio.”<\/p>\n That’s pretty specific.<\/p>\n It’s also clear that whoever writes these descriptions like the word various.<\/p>\n I need a little bit more than that. Viewing the image on\u00a0Ancestry.com\u00a0<\/em>does allow me to see the image that was used to create the database entry for Valentine and Fany.<\/p>\n However, when viewing image “1” in the set in which their marriage record appears, I am taken to the first page of the book containing their record. I’m not taken to the title card, title page, book cover, or any of the similar items that are typically at the front of a microfilmed record book.<\/p>\n All I can determine from\u00a0Ancestry.com<\/em>‘s interface of this image is that it came from a record book in the Hamilton County, Ohio, courthouse.
