The page is headed with the phrase &#8220;for the War with Mexico&#8221;) contains the enlistment information for the &#8220;older&#8221; Andrew Trautvetter.<\/p>\n<p>The enlistment entry indicated this Andrew was 19 years old,had hazel eyes, black hair, and a light complexion. He stood 5&#8217; 3 3\/4&#8243; tall and was a shoemaker born in Saxeweimar, Germany. He enlisted in Philadelphia on 15 May 1847 and was discharged on 14 August 1848 at the expiration of his service at Ft. Hamilton.<\/p>\n<p>The enlistment entry images are a part of this post and shown below.<\/p>\n<p>This &#8220;older&#8221; Andrew Trautvetter&#8217;s enlistment is inconsistent with the one for the younger Andrew discussed in an earlier post. The ages are nearly ten years apart and the physical\u00a0 description (the &#8220;younger&#8221; Andrew had blue eyes, brown hair, and a light complexion and stood 5\u201910\u201d). The places of birth are consistent, but the occupations are different as well.
