No Favorite Ancestor

specialoneThis is more of a pet peeve than anything else. If you’re looking for serious genealogical content, move to the next post.

I don’t understand “having a favorite ancestor.” The concept of favorite does not make any sense to me.

I don’t have a favorite ancestor any more than I have a favorite child.

I do have some who have been more of a research challenge than others. I do have some that I have researched more than others, but that’s usually because they have fewer descendants, been more difficult to research, or have been less well documented. I want to tell their stories because the stories of some of the others have already been told.

But a favorite? I don’t think so.

My incomplete ancestor table is here. There are no favorites marked.
