This is another in our series on the Thomas Frame employment file from the Pullman Car Company. There is a great deal of good information on this card–better almost than a United States census record from the same time period.
There’s no indication of whether Thomas was boarding, renting, or owning (he owned his home–or rather his wife did). What was particularly interesting was the number of children in the United States–4 isn’t quite right–and the fact that he had been “home” two times.
He also was a United States citizen at this point in time as well, but the card doesn’t indicate that.

If protocol allows – may I ask a relevant question?
Does the mention of First & Second Papers on the record card have anything to do with Naturalisation Papers?
Michael – Many Happy Returns.
Yes it should be referring to his citizenship status. I’m not certain why it only said he had filed his first papers.
