I’ve just ordered my own copy of the new American Settlements and Migrations by Lloyd Bockstruck.
Based upon the description the book is not full of maps, but instead has a discussion of migrations into and from the fifty US states with (according to the description) a focus on the pre-1850 era. The book also contains “key sources” of additional migration information from each state (again, according to the description).
As of the date of this post, the book is available at a discount from the publisher, Genealogical.com‘s Clearfield Publishing Company. Amazon.com‘s current prices are higher. I’m looking forward to receiving my own copy.
