Genealogists have easier access to more information than they ever have. With that increased access comes some realities that we all must address on a daily basis:
- Realizing that we may not have access to all information– not all records being online and many online records are not fully indexed.
- Being overwhelmed with data and being unable to sift out and focus on relevant material.
- Failing to understand and interpret correctly what we do find.
I try and remind myself of these things every day as I research:
- there could be more out there
- I must constantly focus
- I must constantly learn
