Franciska (Bieger) Trautvetter was born in Warsaw, Hancock County, Illinois, in 1851 and died in Walker Township, Hancock County, Illinois, in 1888. She married John Michael Trautvetter in Walker Township in 1867.

From Francis, I learned:

  • Spell the name the way your ancestor spelled it, if possible. Francis’ name is almost always written as Franciska and occasionally as Francis.
  • Marriage records that say who your “parents” are may be incorrect–even when a signed letter from those “parents” is included.
  • Don’t forget to look for information about parental consent when someone marries under the legal age.
  • Live every moment to the fullest. Francis died at the age of thirty-seven of pneumonia.

Unfortunately I have no picture of Franciska.

My ancestor table can be viewed on my site. Franciska is my great-great-grandmother.
