It’s been years since I really worked on Thomas Chaney of Southampton Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Most of that research was done nearly thirty years ago, before the internet, before many records were online, and before DNA testing.
While I’ve dabbled a little bit into his records, I’ve not done any serious work on him in some time. Thomas lived in Bedford County from the late 18th century until his death in the 1850s.
Maybe it’s time to take another look at what I’ve found on Thomas, see what’s “new,” and see if I can make any new discoveries.
Do you have a relative you’ve put on the back burner for too long?

I’ve started back on several of my mother’s ancestors that were my beginning research. There’s lots of new stuff that has been digitized and this has lead to hints to contact local libraries and genealogical societies in the area. I always like to cycle back in my research to see what new discoveries are out there!
